No Fry Low Fat Dry Oats & Minced Cauliflower Manchurian in Appe Pan

I was a sucker of Indo-Chinese food during my college days but My marriage with Shri made me ditch those Chinese Bhel and Chinese Pizza(Kuch Din to Gujarao Gujarat Mein :P) Shri hates all Indo version of any Cuisines and wants to try possible Authenticate Versions. He took me to Crazy Noodle outlet in the city which would serve broth which has a prominent taste Ginger with veggies like bokchoy,Carrots where one needs to eat with them Chopsticks 😛 Thats how he likes eat Chinese !!

Coming back to what I love is to eat some chatpata Indo Chinese with a healthy twist, I have been savoring on these Manchurian balls for some weeks and believe me its a kind of a Weight loss recipe. It has oats and loads of veggies what with a minimal usage of Oil.

I tested the recipe for few times and kept on improved and balancing the amount of Oats and Cornflour. I tried to make it with only oats but it didn’t turned out so well, so would recommend to add Cornflour. Roast whole oats on a slow flame to avoid burning of oats. These Manchurian come out very well if done on LOW FLAME and will be cooked to perfection.

 

 

I have experienced that weight loss occurs if Oats are consumed on daily basis, One meal or breakfast have bowl of Oats. I believe in cultivating a healthy habit than getting into those diets which leads to suppression of your taste buds to a an extent. Much of food restriction makes you gain the weight after finishing of a particular diet

I made dry version of Oats Manchurian because as it is devoid of Refined flour and its not fried it will tend to get soggy and lumpy !!! I would suggest to have it HOT as we have our PAKODAS these are Chinese Pakodas in Appe Pan

In this rainy season We crave for something Hot and spicy which can be made quickly in a Kadhai full of Oil but this Dry Oats Manchurian in Appe Pan is a tough competition to Oily Kadhai !!!

Instructions
  1. In a bowl mix all finely chopped vegetable and add salt-pepper. Try to give it a knead to release moisture from veggies.
  2. Add Oats and cornflour to Manchurian Mix and knead a dough. Add schezwan sauce, start forming round balls from the mixture.
  3. Take adequate portion in your hands to get small rounels. Prepare Manchurian balls in a similar way(Apply some Oil in your palms to avoid mixture sticking to your hands)
  4. Heat Appe/ Paniyaram Pan on a medium heat and brush each depression with brush of oil. Keep flipping Manchurian to make sure it cooked completely.Place Manchurians into the pan lowering the heat(Low Flame)
  5. Brush Oil on the Manchurian and turning them when a golden brown color is attained. As Insert a toothpic to check if its cooked properly. Prepare the rest batch in a similar way.
  6. Serve it hot with schezwan sauce
